SAFS Graduate Student Symposium – 2017 Edition
The *28th Annual Graduate Student Symposium* will be held on *Thursday, November 9th, 2016*, from 9am to 5pm in Anderson Hall 207. The poster presentations and reception will be held in the SAFS second floor kitchen, beginning at 5pm. This event is a wonderful opportunity for SAFS graduate students to share their current or proposed research and get feedback from other students, faculty, and scientists.
Oral presentation: 12 minutes, with 3 minutes for questions.
Poster: Any size. There is no limit to the number of accepted posters.
Leaky Boot Lightning Talk – New this year!: Similar to the past satirical posters, the Leaky Boot Lightning Talks will be 3 minute satirical/comical presentations competing for the leaky boot prize. Presentations will take place during the reception. You may submit a lightning talk in addition to an oral or poster presentation. Please include a short “Tweetable” description (>140 characters) and check the box for lightning talk on the registration to participate. Powerpoint and sense of humor recommended.
Submissions for all presentation types will be accepted on a first-come basis beginning TODAY (October 5, 2017) until spaces are filled or until the deadline on October 23, 2017. Prizes (gift certificates from Amazon) will be awarded for oral and poster presentations in the following divisions:
Best Oral Presentation by a MS student
Best Oral Presentation by a PhD student
We will also be awarding a special price for the best leaky boot lightning talk.
